What does a compost tea do for my soil?

To start the nutrients and microbes infuse into the water making a liquid fertilizer. This intern help knockback disease and prevent pests. These also allow easier access to nutrients during any stage of growing. They can also be used as often as needed to give that boost to your plants.

What items do you need to mix a compost tea?

• 5 Gallon Bucket
• Air pump with hose and air stones
• Large cheese cloth filter Bag
• Organic Unsulfured Molasses
• Earthworm Castings
• Added nutrients based on plants stage of growth

What is the ratio to mix for a plant in the VEGETATION stage?

Start by:
• Filling the 5 gallon bucket with RO water or tap dechlorinated water.
• Insert the air pump and turn it on.
• Add 2 tablespoons of molasses then mix well.
Next setup the tea bag using the following:
• Mix 2 tablespoon kelp meal
• Mix 2 tablespoon blood meal
• Mix 1 tablespoon feather meal
• Mix 2 cup earthworm castings
Once the tea bag is full of your mix, close the top and place into the water. Then cover the bucket with a cloth to prevent contaminants. Come back 24 hours later and apply your freshly brewed tea to your soil IMEDIATLY. You can dilute your tea with RO or dechlorinated water to feed more plants. Last thing you want to do is squeeze as much water out of your tea bag as possible, then add the tea mix to your plants soil.

What happens if you brew compost tea too short/long?

The fact of the matter is the time will vary. The shorter the brew time the greater concentration of high fungal microbes. Inversely the longer the brew period the more bacteria laden the mix will become. Fruit trees love fungal dominate and vegetables love bacterial dominate soil.

Can I use a compost tea in any other ways?

Yes. Simply put a compost tea can be made into a foliage spray to prevent white powdery mildew. The properties in the tea help reduce mold and mildew growth. However defoliation and airflow can do the same.
