Leaf Septoria, also known as "yellow leaf spot," is a fungal or bacterial condition that affects cannabis plants, particularly in warm and wet weather. The symptoms usually start appearing on the lower leaves of the plant. These spots often have darkened borders and a hard growth in the center resembling a small pimple. What sets them apart is their uniformity, appearing as little circles with tiny dark specks (spores) at their centers. Initially yellow, the spots gradually turn brown over time.

Cause of Issue
◉ Leaf Septoria is primarily caused by fungi spores that can remain in the soil during winter and attack the plants in summer. These spores can also be easily spread by wind and rain.
Symptoms
◉ Round yellow spots on cannabis leaves, which eventually turn brown.
Corrective Actions
◉ Immediate Removal: Carefully remove all affected leaves to minimize the spread of spores. ◉ Pruning: Trim leafy parts of the plant to improve air circulation. ◉ Moisture Control: Avoid getting water on the leaves and prevent moisture buildup. ◉ Clean Surroundings: Keep the ground under your plant clean by raking away leaves and vegetation. Adding mulch can also help prevent spore spread. ◉ Plant Health: Maintain plant health as healthier plants are less susceptible to leaf septoria. ◉ Crop Rotation: Consider rotating crop sites or moving to a new location each year to help prevent the fungus from attacking your plants. ◉ Copper-Based Fungicide or Biofungicide: These may be effective in stopping the spread of the fungus, but they are best used as a preventative measure. ◉ Neem Oil: Depending on the specific cause of leaf spot, neem oil can be used to combat the problem. However, avoid applying it near flowering plants, as it may leave an unpleasant taste and smell on the buds. Use a mister to spray the leaves evenly, but test it on a small part of the plant first. ◉ Remember to exercise caution and follow the recommended guidelines when using any treatments.
