When your marijuana plant is experiencing a manganese deficiency, you may notice the leaves turning yellow between the veins, accompanied by mottled brown spots. These brown patches can spread and ultimately cause the affected leaves to wither and die. In some cases, the leaves may even shred and disintegrate. The overall growth of the plant may also be stunted, with the yellowing starting at the base of the leaves and gradually extending towards the tips.

Cause of Issue
◉ High pH levels in the soil or hydroponic solution ◉ Excess of iron
Symptoms
◉ Yellowing of leaves between the veins, progressing from the base to the tips ◉ Mottled brown spots on affected leaves ◉ Shredding and disintegration of leaves ◉ Stunted overall growth
Corrective Actions
◉ Adjust pH Levels: Ensure that the pH level of the soil or hydroponic solution falls within the appropriate range for manganese absorption. For soil, aim for a pH range of 6.0-7.0, while for hydroponics, maintain a pH range of 5.5-6.0. ◉ Flush the System: If a manganese deficiency is suspected, flush the system with clean, pH-balanced water that contains cannabis-friendly nutrients, including manganese. This process helps remove excess iron or nutrient salts that may be interfering with manganese uptake, restores pH levels, and provides the plant with any missing nutrients. ◉ Note: Leaves damaged by a manganese deficiency may not recover or regain their green color. Therefore, it's essential to monitor new growth for signs of improvement. ◉ Remember to be cautious about higher pH ranges, as they are more likely to contribute to manganese deficiencies.
