Purple Thunder, not to be confused with the like-named “Purple Lightning,” is a rare sativa dominant hybrid strain created through crossing the infamous Early Durban X Kodiak Gold strain. Named for its gorgeous appearance and high-powered effects, Purple Thunder is perfect for any sativa lover who wants to get up and moving. This bud has popcorn-shaped deep olive green nugs with beautiful deep purple undertones, thin amber hairs and a sparkling coating of tiny frost purple-tinted white crystal trichomes. As you pull apart each glittering little nugget, aromas of sour citrus and fresh woody earth are released, turning spicy as the nugs are burned away. The flavor is very similar, with a spicy sour citrus overtone accented by fresh woody pine and sweet earth. The Purple Thunder high is just as delicious as the flavor, with lifted effects that will fill you with a sense of energy and purpose. You'll feel euphoric and without a care in the world, ready to take on your to-do list with ease and a sense of focus. An increase in sociability accompanies this state, leaving you happy and easily chatting with those around you. With these effects and its high 19-20% average THC level, Purple Thunder is often said to be perfect for treating chronic pain, depression, inflammation, arthritis and chronic stress or anxiety.
